Search Engine
Optimization can be
Straightforward
After all it's not
exactly Rocket Science
(it really isn't) but
for anyone who has not
attempted it before then
it can look like
something even NASA
could have second
thoughts about.
Many years ago, well a
few years ago, I was in
the position where I had
designed a brand new web
site (my first) and was
all set to make my
fortune.
I really was extremely
proud of my site and
expected immediate
results and a welcome
smile on my Bank
Manager's face as I
trundled in with oodles
of cash from bundles of
sales.
Of course things didn't
pan out exactly the way
I planned, in fact no
where near to it.
I didn't get one single
sale,
in fact I hardly got any
visitors never mind
sales.
To say I was flummoxed
was an understatement,
but the beauty of the
Internet was (and still
is) that if you ever
need help there is
always someone out there
ready, willing and able
to offer you all the
help you could possibly
want.
Through these people I
learnt about Search
Engines and how they
could bring loads of
FREE traffic to your
site, and I also learnt
that in order for the
Search Engines to help
you
YOU had to start off by
helping Them.
I discovered just how
important Search Engines
are (webmasters really
cannot live without
them) and also learnt
what
That Magical Phrase
"Search Engine
Optimization"
really meant.
In reality it's very
simple.
If you don't want to
spend a lot of money
buying traffic for your
website then you need
traffic from the Search
Engines and you need the
Search Engines to send
the Traffic to YOU, not
to someone else.
For the Search Engines
to "pick you out" from
the crowd of other web
sites you have to do 2
things for them.
-
you have to follow a
few basic rules
which when complied
with will tell the
Search Engines all
about Your Site and
show them your
specialities
-
you have to
demonstrate to the
Search Engines that
your Site is highly
rated by other
surfers.
These 2 necessities,
in themselves, are
relatively
straightforward but
implementing them
can be a bit of a
headache especially
for any Newcomer and
can also be very,
VERY time consuming.
There
are also a few
Tricks of the Trade
to learn along the
way.
Get these right
and you are well on
your way to getting
the results you want
but get them wrong
and, oh dear..
(enough said).
Now it is all
beginning to sound
very daunting so,
before I dishearten
you completely, let
me quickly tell you
the

which incidentally
I've now sold for a
nice little profit.
Thanks to the many

me help I did manage
to quickly (it was
easier than I
expected) not only
learn about but
actually implement
"Search Engine
Optimization" to
such a degree that I
actually got my
website up to a
Google Page Rank of
6 with several
thousand visitors a
day, and
that made me really
chuffed.

line whilst I was
receiving all this
